As Stride grows, so does everything behind the scenes. We're looking for an experienced finance professional to support the day-to-day running of our accounts and help shape how we manage our finances in the future.
Truthfully, we don't have every answer. That's why we're looking for you.
We're after someone who's worked with businesses like ours before. Someone who enjoys bringing order to the numbers, spotting opportunities to improve the way things work, and helping growing businesses feel a little more in control.

A little about us
We're Stride – a creative studio based in the heart of Chester. We help ambitious organisations with branding, websites, digital marketing and branded spaces.
We’re a friendly bunch who genuinely enjoy working together. We believe good work comes from asking the right questions, working collaboratively and caring about the details.
As we've grown, so has the financial admin that supports the business behind the creativity.
The opportunity
We're looking for someone to take some of the weight off our shoulders.
That means supporting the day-to-day running of our accounts, but also bringing fresh ideas about how we can improve the way we work.
Some weeks that might mean reconciling accounts or raising invoices. Other weeks it might mean helping us get more from Harvest and Xero, improving reporting, or simply spotting a smarter way of doing something.
The exact shape of the role isn't set in stone – and we think that's a good thing.
What you'll be doing
You'll likely be involved in
- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping
- Raising and processing invoices
- Credit control and payment tracking
- Bank reconciliations
- Supporting VAT returns and financial reporting
- Maintaining Xero and Harvest
- Improving finance processes as the business grows
- Working closely with the Directors to provide financial visibility and insight
The nature of the role is flexible. We'd much rather find the right person than force them into a rigid job description.

You don't wait to be asked if you can see a better way of doing something.
You've supported growing businesses before and understand the challenges that come with them.
Experience with Xero and Harvest (or similar project management/accounting software) is essential. Experience working with agencies, consultancies or other creative businesses would be a bonus.
